i really like the choice to shoot from this angle...never seen a shot from there before, and i really like it!
Florence: Thank you Alex !
This is a good capture of her! I like the framing with the cloud in the background.
Florence: Thanks Martin.

thats true. ive never seen her shot like this before. VERY dramatic. she is super artful and sturdy from this angle. the cloud formations and tone make her structure seem very formidable. nice one. ~S.
Florence: Many thanks Sara !

that could almost be a real person! i agree that the angle is very unique and i think adds to the allure of the shot...the fact that its not so obviously miss liberty secures it for me.
Florence: Thanks Liam.

Leave it to you, Flo, to make this unique!

There's actually a lot of symbolism here, truth be known. Sometimes some of us feel that Liberty has turned her back on us (in the States, that is). As we know, it really isn't "Liberty for All" yet!
Florence: For me, you see, she's opened to the world... depends on which side we see her... Thanks Ginnie.
This could be another entry in the `how to get a different slant on a much photographed landmark`! Where were you? Up in a balloon? lol! I like it so much - the detail is sublime, and it is a fabulous b/w. As for Ginnie`s comment - well, I could not agree more. Here in the UK I feel as though we are going into reverse in the `liberty` stakes.
Florence: This one was taken in Paris for we also have our "Miss Liberty" but she's much smaller than the one we one gave you in America.
Thanks Rozalyn.

GOod to see you back! and the back of statue of liberty smile
As others have said, you have captured an original view of a popular subject, I know you know thatsmile I like the tone too.
Belle photo Americano-Parisienne (la nôtre est plus belle que la leur! nananananère!..)Et joli habillage qui, à mon avis, met plus en valeur tes images. Un bel écrin!
Excellent contrast and DOF. All the best, Dave.
